The Food and Drug Administration recently released a safety alert regarding contaminated duodenoscopes used during ERCP procedures. The safety alert states that the design of the duodenoscope may make it difficult to effectively clean the scope.
For our patients scheduled at the Endoscopy Center of WNY and the Endoscopy Center of Niagara, please note that duodenoscopes are not used at our centers. Please be assured that the staff at both centers are properly trained and qualified to reprocess endoscopes. Our Endoscopy Technicians follow infection control protocols and manufacturer’s guidelines when cleaning endoscopes. Should you have any concerns about an upcoming procedure, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Our patients know that Gastroenterology Associates delivers first-rate gastroenterological care and endoscopic services at both our Williamsville and Wheatfield locations. We utilize an evidence-based approach, one that’s comprehensive and compassionate.
Patients who have visited our top-of-the-line endoscopy center will tell you that it is far more comfortable and inviting than a hospital. Beyond that, unique offerings like our open access colonoscopies save you time, by eliminating the need for an initial consultation.
The warm, one-to-one service we’ve long been known for is something you can always expect from us. With a talented team of physicians and nurse practitioner/physician assistants, there is no one in the Western New York area who can treat you better.
